Y’all, this post is perfect for me. I love a good set of goals and it seems to be a great thing to do to round out 2016. Did you know I’m turning 30 soon? I know people freak about this, but it doesn’t really bother me, I’m an old soul at heart and I have so many friends in the midst of their 30’s and 40’s and I would never want to rush things, but I’m so excited about what’s to come in my 30’s.
So let’s talk about some things I’m currently planning and set some goals to go along with them, not necessarily September-focused, but just a few things I have on my radar for the next few months.
ONE- #WholeSeptember- I’m starting another round of Whole 30 on Monday. If you don’t know already, I love Whole 30. The foods on the program make me feel my best and a reset with my relationship with food is much needed. We’ll be watching football games on Saturdays from now through November, so I’m happy to have an excuse not to eat all the crazy tailgating foods, for this month anyway.
TWO- Run a 1/2 marathon- This is such a lofty goal for me. If you don’t know, I’m going to go ahead and throw this out there: I hate running. I Crossfit at 5:30 on most weekday mornings, and I’d rather do that twice than have to run. Seriously. But, I like a good challenge and I think running the Mercedes 1/2 with Kristin would be super fun, so I’m buying into the theory that I could actually run 13.1 miles without feeling like I might not live to see another day. I have nearly 6 months to plan, so I’ll update you in February. My goal is to start running 4-5 days per week and just see where that gets me.
THREE- Finish decorating our house. We purchased our house about 4 years ago and I just never knew what my style of decorating was to get in looking and feeling just like I want. Around this time last year we renovated our kitchen and the white marble and gray subway tiles set the mood for the rest of the house. I have big plans with shiplap and kids rooms makeovers, but we’re just taking it one room at a time. Currently, I’m putting the finishing touches on my office/craft room, so I can share more of it later during Blog-tember.
FOUR: Plan a Disney Land and Sea Vacation. If you’ve been reading here for any amount of time, you know Disney World is one of our favorite places. We had initially planned to take this year off and do something different, but the magic only lasts so long, so we’re opting for a split cruise/park days sometime in late February. I need to iron out all the details with a Disney travel agent, but we’re so excited to get back to the happiest place on earth.
FIVE: Throw a party. I’m itching to plan a party and have some of my favorite people over. I think a Halloween or football party will be the ticket, but we haven’t quite decided yet on which one we’ll actually do, but I want to get one on the books for October and start planning a menu.

1. Thirties are the best. See also, not fair that I’m seven years older than you.
2. We will rock Whole30 AND the Mercedes Half. You’ll see. ๐
3. I’m already planning my Halloween costume. We’re gonna take the internet by storm. Hahahaha.

I have heard so many great things about the WHole30! I want to try it sometime! I try to stick with a paleo-ish diet because I feel loads better when I avoid gluten, dairy, beans, and white potatoes.

These are great goals! I keep wanting to try Whole30, but I think I’ll have to wait until the baby is born to give it a try!

Those are some really good goals! I’ve been meaning to do the Whole30 but something always gets in my way! I need to drop the excuses!
