Moving right along in the gift guide department, I have some great picks for girls today. You’ll definitely want to stick around and read this entire post because there is a giveaway at the bottom and it’s one of the best I’ve ever hosted. I don’t want to spoil any surprises, but it involves one of my favorite stores and a thousand dollars in spending money.
Back to the gift guide, you’ll probably find that these are better for the 5-8 year range. If you’re looking for something a little younger, try this post.
Once again, I divided this guide up into sections. This way you’ll be able to easily grab something based on who you’re shopping for or if you’re looking for a variety, you can grab something from a few categories.
(affiliate links appear below)
For The Creative Mind- These tend to be BK’s favorites. If there’s a kit that lets you create something, she’s all about it!
Spirograph– Did y’all have one of these as a child? I pretty much can’t get over how fun and nostalgic this toy is and it’s my favorite thing I’ve bought so far for BK.
Illustory– This fun kit allows your child to become an author! Your child writes and illustrates their own original story that will be printed as a full-color, hardcover, professionally typeset book.
String Art– This kit let’s your kid make 3 different string art creations.
Just For Fun- These picks are fun toys for this year. Things that were either specifically requested or I just thought would be a fun gift option.
Shopkins– These are all the rage at our house, and honestly? I don’t hate them. She uses her imagination to play with them on a regular basis. I figured we would add a set to her collection for Christmas this year!
Hatchimals– Is this on your list? Goodness, everyone I know is looking for one right now. I actually had a friend tell me about this before BK ever mentioned getting one, I decided to go ahead and order it, just in case. I’m so glad I did because now she’s asking for one and they are no where to be found. Also, this is typically not me, I’m typically overpaying for popular things at the last minute because I failed to order one.
Striped Sleeping Bag– I feel like this might be the year she can finally enjoy a cute sleeping bag. I’ve had my eye on this Land Of Nod option for years!
Games To Play- I love family games and now that BK is old enough, I love that she can join in with us and actually play the game independently. It makes me look forward to marathon Scrabble and Monopoly games in our future.
Tenzi- We bought this fun dice game at the beach this past summer and we’ve played it on a regular basis ever since. So while Santa won’t be bringing it to us this year, it is way too good not to share!
Spot it! – This game looks so fun! You race to find the matching symbol on the cards and there are a variety of different game play options.
To Inspire Learning- Fun ways to learn new things are always great! I also love finding books that I know will be a hit, the more interested in reading, the better.
Junie B. Jones Set– BK is obsessed with all things Junie B. She started reading them last year and we’re so close to finishing out the whole set!
Osmo-These Osmo kits are super cool! They use the technology of the iPad and combine it with tactile learning to make an incredible learning experience for kids. They come in a variety of kits for different levels and subjects.
Magic School Bus Kits– Since we love anything Magic School Bus, I was super excited to see these sets in a huge variety of different scientific topics.
National Geographic Geodes Kit– This is going to be a hit and I’m 100% sure of that! You get actual geodes and break them apart to see what’s inside!
– This is such a fun way to introduce kids to coding and critical thinking skills and it’s on sale right now!
Building Sets – I’ve said it before, building sets are always a hit and they easily stand the test of time at our house.
Magnatiles– We have tons of these already and BK builds such cool and complex things with them.
Lego Kits– I love watching BK put together Lego kits, she carefully reads the instructions and puts everything in its correct place. So these sets are always a hit!
