Ideally, I like to do Disney in a whole week, two days for Magic Kingdom, a full day at the other three parks and an off day somewhere in the middle. Since we split our week up with a cruise, we had 5 full days for the parks so our off day ended up being more of a hop around and squeeze in a few favorites.
It was really hot by this point in the week. So much for those 70-degree February days we had last year, the temperatures were hovering around 90 degrees at this point.
We started the day at Epcot for Mission Space and Figment (per BK’s request).
And Jud started asking for a roller coaster around 10:00 AM. We tried to do the Easter egg hunt around Magic Kingdom, but with the start of the Flower and Garden Festival and the temperatures, we were super slow and didn’t get much accomplished.
We left Epcot for a 3:00 PM dinner reservation at ‘Ohana. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants at Disney World, it’s in the Polynesian and the food is delicious. There aren’t any characters, but there is a fun host and games! They serve an amazing bread pudding for dessert, complete with caramel sauce and ice cream. Worth every single bite.
We left dinner and asked the kids what they wanted to do for the last few hours at Disney World. We decided to finish up our trek around the world and ride Test Track (we had missed our earlier Fast Pass), and Jud’s only request was to ride the roller coaster (in his words, the one that sings hi-ho).
But the Monorail broke while we were riding and we were stuck at the Ticket and Transportation Center for over an hour.
They asked us to get off and board a bus (they did give us Fast Passes to make it better), along with the hundreds of other people who were stranded by the monorail. We opted for a boat ride to Magic Kingdom and let the kids each choose something since we had Fast Passes, so wait times didn’t really matter.
Jud was able to ride his favorite roller coaster.
BK chose to meet Elena of Avalor and Cinderella.
And because we were able to do so much and end our trip with a favorite (without a wait time), we thought we’d share our good fortune with someone else and pass along our extra Fast Passes before heading for the room. We gave them to another family and went back to Animal Kingdom Lodge to pack for our next adventure.
Jud thought it was hilarious that Pluto was wearing his headphones when we got back to the room.
At this point, the kids had no idea we were packing to head to Port Canaveral for a cruise the next morning. We did promise BK we were doing something super fun before we went home, and she was convinced she was getting to go to Chuck-E-Cheese’s, a cruise was not even on her radar.
