dear judson,
today you are three!!I will say this every year, but I can’t believe you are three!! It seems like just yesterday you were a tiny baby with bright blue eyes who had resolved to never sleep through the night. Do you even know how much you were held and rocked that first year? Who am I kidding, you still snuggle with me to take a nap. I can promise you, you’ll be finished taking naps before I’m ready to give up those sweet moments.
I had that first part written for a while before I looked over at your daddy and said, how do you write a blog post about Jud? How in the world can I sum him up in words?
Oh, Juddy, where do I even begin? Your second year brought your personality in full force. You bring so much joy and laughter into our lives. You are the funniest little boy in all the world. Like your sister, you aren’t lacking in the personality department and you have never met a stranger. Your daddy and I may never find out just where that larger than life personality comes from, but we sure do love it so much!
You’re every bit a boy, always looking for the highest spot to climb, forever trying to pile up the pillows on the couch and jump down when I’m not looking your way (spoiler alert: I’m always looking your way). You want to help your daddy build and work outside, in fact, we are rarely inside with you. You never stop unless you are sleeping. We are constantly reminding you to walk because you literally want to run every single place you go, no matter the time of dYou’re rambunctious side is matched with a soft and tender heart, you don’t want to disappoint or make anyone sad. You are an includer like your sister, even at a young age, you’re learning to play with everyone in the room and you don’t like to see people left out when you’re around. Your heart is so big and you love climb up in my lap or look up at me in the middle of a crowded room or busy store and say, mommy, you can hold me? I would never, ever be able to say no to that, sweet boy!
You love dinosaurs so very much. Just yesterday BK announced she planned to be a scientist when she grows up and without skipping a beat you said, well, I’m gonna be a dinosaur when I get too bigger. You have a imaginary green dinosaur, Dino, and he runs away quite regularly. He goes to the zoo or the woods or Disney World. He usually always comes back, but sometimes we have to help you find him when he takes too long. Your love for dinosaurs is unmatched, nothing is as interesting or fun to you as those prehistoric creatures.
You have the curliest hair and the biggest blue eyes. You smile at everyone you meet and you love to tell everyone about your dinosaur or your sister. Speaking of your sister, you love her so very much. You can hardly contain your excitement when we pick her up from school. After we read to you and tuck you in, you find your way to her bed as she reads a few chapters of her book out loud. She’s the second person you ask about in the mornings (your daddy is always first) and you’d follow her around all day long just to be near her.
Jud, you are seriously the cutest guy we’ve ever met! You say the funniest and wittiest thing for a three year old and we love seeing your personality develop. You love to build things, and put things together, you don’t like for things to be out of place, and you ask to wear blue pants (blue jeans) on a regular basis. You prefer your shirts to have dinosaurs or firetrucks and you’re way ore vocal about what you wear than your sister ever was.
One million times we’ve asked how we got so lucky to be your parents. You are a ray of sunshine, the most perfect gift, and we are thankful for you every single day.
