Remember that fun new link-up I told you about last week? Welllll…. it’s here! The Daily Dime is all about a day in your life, take ten photos throughout the day then come back to link-up with us! I can’t promise it will be super exciting, but I always love these posts on others blogs, so I’m excited about reading them today!
This is what a Monday in the summer looks like in my life. I’ll try to switch it up so you can see our routines on different days. On weekdays mornings I wake up super early for an Orange Theory class. We don’t have a ton of time in the evenings when we’re all home, so I never want to cut into that time. Instead, I can wake up before everyone in the house, get a workout in for the day, and still make it back home while Judson and Braylen are sleeping. My alarm goes off at 4:30 and I literally roll out of bed and grab my clothes (I always lay them out the night before), brush my teeth, and head out the door. I am loving Orange Theory, I can typically buy into a gym pretty easily, but this might be my favorite so far. If I don’t have abs by the end of the year, my feelings might be a little hurt.
I’m back home around 6:35, so that gives me about 30 minutes to take care of a few things before I need to take a shower and start my day. I had pre-cooked some turkey burgers, but needed a good veggie to go with them for lunches. I just tossed these green beans in lemon juice, a little coconut oil, salt and pepper and roasted them in the oven.
The rest of our house doesn’t always match, but I’m serious about starting the day with a clean kitchen. It doesn’t even really make sense considering my bed isn’t always made and I routinely leave my bathroom counter in a mess.
The kids have the best sitter during the day while I’m at work and I’m usually home around 3:30. For the first time since I’ve had children I feel like I’m finally in a place where I have a good balance with work and home and being a mom and wife.
I came home to a package from Shein, this was the first time I’ve ordered clothes from their site. I ordered a swim suit once and it was basically Braylen’s size, except I ordered a size large because someone had already told me they run small. I was pleasantly surprised by this shirt (affiliate), it was definitely a keeper!
Braylen and Judson had a fun package, too! My MIL sends them this box every month and they love it! It’s seriously like Christmas and we’ve found so many fun snacks. I think they love it for the snacks and for getting to open a fun package with yummy food.
While the playroom was filled with tent building and dress-up games, I did a little packing for our beach trip. We started using those packing cubes for our Disney trip and we’ve been obsessed. I’ll put together a more organized post on those, but let me just say, they are life changing.
(And I’m not a terrible dog mom, Tucker had just gotten clean and I knew he would run straight for the mud.)
Allen worked late, so I heated up some buffalo chicken dip and cooked a sweet potato for a quick dinner (drizzled with some Primal Kitchens Ranch, of course). This is a weeknight favorite for us. I buy rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and make a batch of that dip nearly every week for an easy meal on busy nights. I just serve the buffalo chicken over a baked sweet potato and drizzle with ranch. It’s seriously amazing.
this is an old picture, but much prettier than the one I had from Monday.
It was nice and rain-free for a few minutes so we took advantage of the pretty weather and ate on the back porch. The kids ate raw carrots, watermelon and rotisserie chicken. They love a good variety plate dinner.
When Allen came home, BK and I snuck out for a minute to get a pedicure to get ourselves a little beach ready. She wanted to pick out my color, but her first choice was a bright orange with glitter. I steered her towards the pinks and she picked a bright pink for us both.
She must have really loved that pedicure because she left me a super sweet note and a La Croix on my nightstand.
Dear mom, you fill my life with joy. It makes me want to ask how lucky am I.

The buffalo chicken dip sweet potato looks so good! And I’ve heard so many good things about OT! I wish there was one close to where I live!

Yes! If they open one, you should give it a try!

I’m the same way about having a clean kitchen in the mornings (mainly, island/counters free of clutter!), and yet our bed is never made and my bathroom counter is usually a mess! Probably because I don’t have to look at it again until night vs. the kitchen stares at me allllll. day. long. I’ve been wanting to order from SheIn, but haven’t done it yet! Might just have to bite the bullet and try it!

I’m so happy to hear this from so many others!! Makes me feel a little more sane! You should definitely try it, but give yourself about 2 weeks, because it could take that long!

Ok – so now I really want that shirt from shein and YESS I have been so nervous about ordering clothes from there!! Did you order one size up or two??
Also, that note from Braylen is so CUTE and definitely a keeper!
Jennifer says
I ordered up one size, but in this one, I feel like I could have sized down, but it works being oversized, too!

That note on your nightstand is the absolute sweetest, and I can’t wait to make the buffalo chicken dip!
Jennifer says
Right?! I thought so too! And you will love that dip!

I’m super hungry after reading your post!! That dip/sweet potato combo looks amazing and something my husband would love! A clean kitchen is a must for me too!! I will be a little late for work some days cause I just HAVE to have it clean before I leave! ha!
Jennifer says
Oh my gosh, it’s so good! And yes, it always runs me late for getting ready, but so worth it!

Girl, I had no idea that you worked outside the home! For some reason I always though you were a SAHM!

I left teaching when Jud was born, but I have a super flexible gig now and I’m loving it!

I’m the same way with our kitchen. I have to clean it after every meal or I get distracted by the mess! That Buffalo dip looks amazing! Must try!

Looks like a fun day — and I am for sure adding that dinner to my go to dinners! So easy and sounds yummy.

I love that top! That buffalo chicken and sweet potato would be right up my alley. I may have to try that next week for a lunch or dinner. Braylen is soooo sweet. I love that note. Have a great weekend!

What a sweet note! I love those little unexpected displays of affection from kids!
We have an OT kind of close to our house. I think once we’ve moved I’ll have to try it since I’ve heard so many good things about it!
