Two days in a row, friends! Let’s celebrate with a brain dump of sorts, here’s what we’ve been up to lately:
ONE- The end of the school year!! BK wrapped her first grade year, I can hardly believe I’ll have a second grader come August. We’re all so happy for more flexibility, less schedule, and so much summer fun!
For memory sake, here’s the first day of first grade…
And the last…
Crazy, right?! I’ll never stop being in awe of just how fast time goes.
TWO- I need to do a favorite beauty product round-up for you, but in fairness, I shouldn’t go another day without telling about this CC cream (affiliate link). It is amazing!! Listen, I know $38 is pricey for makeup, but I’ve been using the same tube since our Disney trip in February and wearing it every single day! It has great coverage and a ton of sun protection. I promise it’s worth every penny.
THREE- Speaking of the end of the year, since I’m a former teacher I always get asked about teacher gifts. Y’all, we try to keep it simple, our school has one of those favorite things questionnaire’s for every teacher (if they didn’t, I would just print on from Pinterest and send it in). I usually choose something off the list and grab a gift card to that store, or if she likes manicures, a gift certificate for a manicure. Braylen is obsessed with flowers and always insists on including some flowers, so I let her pick out a bouquet and write a hand-written thank-you note so she takes part in the gift, too!
FOUR- I’m afraid rompers are not going to go away. I’ve been on a hunt to find a romper that is semi-flattering for the past two summers and I believe Gap may have the answer! You can find it here (affiliate link). Also, you should know, Braylen said, “I really like that onesie, mom.”
FIVE- Kristin and I started going to Orange Theory back in March (well, at the very end of March). I half-way went in April (like 11 classes) and really bought into the workout in May (23 classes). I’ve seen big changes, but not near as much change as I would have seen if I had stayed away from pizza and Mexican food. As I clean up my diet and workout more, I hope to see even more changes. It’s slightly addicting, and I love starting my day out with a class, even though that 4:30 alarm makes me want to cry some mornings.
SIX- I wish I could tell you how many times Judson gets called a girl. It’s humorous at this point, I don’t even correct people. It might be because of these curls…
We have cut them a few times, but this time around, I’m rather attached to them. Probably because he’s losing everything that makes him a baby lately, so I’m keeping them around for just as long as I can.
SEVEN- Allen was out of town on a deep sea fishing trip for a few days last week and this is what he sent me back.
Not fair at all. He’s lucky we already have a beach trip on the calendar this month, or we’d be planning one after that sunset!
EIGHT- We had a much needed family day on Sunday at the zoo, there was an 80% chance of rain, so the zoo was like a ghost town. It was nice to have it almost to ourselves on a pretty summer day!
NINE – Are you watching this show? I just binged the first season while doing 4829 loads of laundry. Why can’t I stop watching??
And I was watching and wondering where in the world I knew Cameran from and then it hit me. She’s CAM from the Real World San Diego, you know Brad’s girl. How fun is that?
TEN- Remember when you took that survey at the beginning of the year (thank you!!), well the majority wanted to see more day in the life posts. So I have some fun news, I’m teaming up with a few other ladies to bring you a link-up!
The link-up will happen on a different day each month and we’ll be sure to announce! For this month, we’ll be sharing our post on Wednesday, June 14th at 6 a.m. CST, and I so hope you’ll join in for the fun! These are my favorite posts! My plan is to pick a different day of the week each month so you can see the progression of our week during different seasons.
(I stole this part from Kristin, but we’re BFF’s so she won’t mind)
Heres how it works:
- Take ten photos of your day,
- Blog about what you were up to,
- Include the Daily Dime banner (below),
- Add a link to at least one of the hosts, and
- Come back here to link up!
