today you are EIGHT! It’ll always be your day, but you know it means a ton to me, too! It’s the day that made me a mother. I can reminisce about that sweet day in April for ever, but let’s let this one be all about you!
There is no real way to put your big personality into words.You might not break 50 pounds on the scale, but your heart and your personality are SO big! You light up the room when you come in, you aren’t afraid of anything. Seriously. Nothing. Not bugs or the dark or public speaking or making new friends.
Your heart is so big. Like so much bigger than any other child I’ve ever met. I’m not just saying that because you’re my daughter. You want to bake cookies to help friends with cancer, and you think about everyone else and you look around the room or the park to see who isn’t being included and you go to them. Do you know how much I learn from your tiny eight year old self?
You are the perfect mix of boldness and beauty, wise beyond your years, and full of life. You ask questions about everything and need to know how things work and happen. You love to collect rocks and pressed pennies from Disney World. Flowers make your eyes light up and a new knock-knock jokes can have you laughing for days.
Making other people laugh is one of your favorite things to do. You love to go places and meet new people, and you love your American Girl Doll, Crystal Kate.
We’ve had an amazing year. You learned you would be a big sister again and you can hardly contain your excitement. You want to know all about the baby, how big he/she is, and you are counting down the days. You really want a baby sister, but I’m sure you’ll be a great big sister to a new brother or sister!
You love to read and can finish a chapter book in record time. You have your daddy wrapped around you finger and you both know it.
Happy eighth birthday, B. You are such a good and perfect gift from God and I can’t even remember what it was like before you, but I know that life is better because of you. Your daddy and I love you more than the world, or as you like to say to the moon and back.
