I think I might really be doing this. I’m catching up the blog and carving out a little time to sit and write past posts or polish posts (like birthday letters) that hurriedly typed so as not to miss the moment. We won’t call it a go until I’ve actually caught up AND started blogging in real time. I can’t go back too far, we’ll recap some birthdays, hit the high points, and of course, that Disney cruise. Did I tell you I have so much to say about the cruise? But first, birthday parties!
You know I’m a tiny bit over the top when it comes to birthday parties. I make no excuses, I love a good party, but about every other year we do something that doesn’t require so much planning and prep. This year we gave Braylen a choice of doing something and inviting her friends from school or going on an adventure to the American Girl Doll store in Georgia. She finally asked for an AG doll for Christmas this past year and she’s been obsessed with her since, so it was a no-brainer for her.
We drove over on Friday night (the night of her birthday) and of course, made a quick stop at Shake Shack for burgers and fries before checking into our room.
This story wouldn’t be complete without telling you that it was at this point we realized we left ALL of our luggage at home. So off to Target we went to buy all the things we needed to get ready the next morning.
Finally, we arrived at the hotel. The experience is SO much fun, the literally roll out the pink carpet and make the process a treat from check-in to the details in the room.
There are cookies and American Girl movies playing. Tiny pink robes, pink bedding and even a bed for the doll. She loved the whole experience and it was such a special treat for her birthday.
We ordered room service for breakfast the next morning and had breakfast before heading over to the American Girl doll store. It was a dream for this girl, so much fun to be had and she had birthday money to spend.
We spent the biggest part of the morning exploring the store and waiting on Crystal to get her hair done and her ears pierced before her birthday lunch.
She used every penny of her birthday money, but I think it was worth it. She bought so many things she had been eyeing from the catalog and has played with them SO much.
After shopping, we headed over to the bistro for a celebration lunch. All of the details are taken care of from the dolls crown to the fun presentation of food and cake. She felt celebrated the whole time!
We headed home after lunch with a girl who was so ready to play with all of our fun new things. The next day, we had pizza and cake with family at the house. Of course, she asked for a unicorn cake to end the weekend of celebrating.

It looks like she had an amazing birthday!
