I love this blog, so much that I come back here day after day, year after year to update you on our life. Honestly, that’s what this blog is, a small snapshot of our life, what we do, where we eat, how we feel. But, sometimes I get so caught up in playing the comparison game that I find myself searching for things that are blog worthy. And I even get the joke, I wonder if that’ll make the blog, from fellow friends and family members.
Or I get questions about juggling everything we do and how everything fits in to our days. I want to show you that sometimes it’s crazy and busy and sometimes it’s boring and sometimes it’s messy. Above all, I want to show you that in all those times it is ours and we couldn’t love it more.
I want to take a step back and really write about our life. The good, the bad, the fun, the sad. I’m not sure how this will look over the next 31 days, but I am sure of one thing, I want there to be heart in each post and I want there to be a post each day.
Let’s take a quick look at today. Braylen woke up way earlier than normal, so I laid down in her bed with her for a little while. Then, she decided while I was taking a shower that she was up for the day. Allen had to take over from there. I am incredibly thankful for Allen’s ability to fix his schedule to work around Braylen. Today he had to go in late because he drops her off at MDO on Tuesday and Thursday and he had to get off early to pick her up (he usually doesn’t pick her up, this was just a crazy day).
He also had to make her lunch. Minor oversight on my part, I usually handle that detail.
I skipped Pure Barre today, the mama guilt was through the roof and I needed to get home to my sweet girl. We had a package from Pottery Barn waiting so I let her open it to find the rest of her Halloween costume. She’s pretty excited about this whole dressing up thing.
And then Allen mentioned Mexican food and I was at the car waiting. Seriously, it took no time for me to agree and commit. The best part of the whole thing was that I had changed into some “fake out” clothes (workout clothes for when you’re not actually working out). Basically, I skipped Pure Barre and ate Mexican food in workout clothes. So wrong on so many levels.
The food was so worth the splurge and the company was even better. I enjoyed a stress-free night out, no kitchen clean-up required.
And because of BK’s early wake up call, she was in bed by 7:00. I know that doesn’t look promising for the rest of the night, but I did manage to start this series. There’s the plus of an early bed time.
I’m off to see what we have recorded and make sure Scandal is set to record.
Of course, there is laundry to be done. Tonight is not the night for that.
Just keeping it real.

Oh yum!! I love an unexpected night out to Mexican – especially when you don’t have to cook or clean! I look forward to reading more about y’all’s life and what goes on day to day! ๐

I love this! This is what I did last year… “back to basics blogging” so that I could just get back in the habit of documenting the day to day so that I could look back and remember and get back into why I started blogging in the first place. It was a great exercise! And so much fun!!

I love this so much. I often feel the same way, wanting to blog what is “blog worthy”, when what I should be doing, is just sharing my heart and our blessed, crazy, imperfect life!
I love how genuine you are here and I’m excited to read more.

These will be the moments you love to come back and read about. The “small” day to day moments! And I’m sorry your mom guilt was high! We all have those days.

This is basically what I’m doing too…just trying to get back in the habit of doing it! I SO can relate to the whole “is it blogworthy” bit, and people asking if stuff will make the blog. I want to stop caring and just post. Haha! Looking forward to following along. ๐

Love that you’re keeping it real! I have two loads of laundry – one in the dryer and one in the laundry basket – waiting to be folded. And they’ve been waiting for 2 days now. Oops:) Sometimes, you just need a Mexican dinner night. Workout clothes or not:)

haha “fake out” clothes!

You know, I began reading your blog a few years ago and the reason I kept coming back was because you blogged about your everyday life. I was a new mama, too, and reading all of my favorite mommy blogs helped me and entertained me as well.
I’m glad to see you blogging about your everyday life again. It’s good for us moms to be able to see that maybe, just maybe, we aren’t going through something alone. Who cares if it’s “blog worthy” to everyone else?!? It’s YOUR blog, and it’s YOUR life! ๐
Congrats again on the new little one on the way!
